• Proclamations from the governor may be issued for causes, occupations, state-wide nonprofit organizations celebrating major milestone anniversaries (25th, 50th, 75th, 100th, etc.) or occasions required by statute.
• Requests must be made 4-6 weeks prior to the date needed.  Any language submitted may be edited, rewritten, or rejected without notice.
• Proclamation requests must be requested by Tennessee residents or nonprofit organizations with a Tennessee resident sponsor. 
• Please note that we attempt to keep proclamations to no more than one page in length (usually 300-350 words maximum) including the seal & signature areas. Please use simple clauses.     
• Proclamations are NOT issued for individuals, conferences, birthdays, retirements, weddings or anniversaries.  Instead, consider using the Certificate or Letter request option.
