Thank you for your interest in obtaining a proclamation from the Office of the Governor. Throughout Nevada's history, Governors have been pleased to provide proclamations declaring the importance of certain dates and observances. Proclamations are limited to declaring selected public observances as an important part of Nevada's shared history.
If you would like to request a proclamation to declare a public observance, please complete the form below and include suggested language for your proclamation.
Please note that due to the number of requests received, proclamation requests must be received four weeks in advance of your date of recognition. In addition, proclamation requests should include four to six "Whereas" clauses. Some requests may be addressed through a special certificate or letter of greeting, rather than a gubernatorial proclamation. By submitting this request, you agree to the following guidelines:
Proclamation requests must be submitted by a resident of Nevada at four weeks in advance of the date being recognized.
These public service documents are honorary and not legally binding.
All proclamation requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The Office of the Governor reserves the right to deny any request for any reason.
Proclamations are issued for one period of time only. For example, if "Earthquake Awareness Month in Nevada" is proclaimed in March, then "Earthquake Awareness Week in Nevada" or "Earthquake Awareness Day in Nevada" will not be proclaimed later in the year.
Proclamations are not issued to honor a specific organization or group, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, conferences or graduations. Certificates and letters are available upon request for these types of events
Draft language may be modified or rewritten at the discretion of the Office of the Governor.
