Employment Opportunities at the Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services
The Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services is excited to be hiring several Homeless Veterans Coordinators. If you’re a veteran, this is your chance to join a dynamic team of professionals that support Maine veterans and their dependents across the state to attain all possible state and federal veteran, as well as survivor benefits.
The primary purpose of these positions are to be the Bureau’s lead and point of contact for homeless veterans’ issues, representing the Bureau on homeless veterans’ committees and assisting with compiling data for mandated legislative reports and policy decisions. The positions require clear and consistent communication with Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services leadership, Bureau employees, the Homeless Veterans Action Committee, and other partner organizations throughout the state. Frequent statewide travel is required. The applicants must be a veteran as defined by Federal law.
The Homeless Veterans Coordinators will advocate for homeless and at-risk veterans on problems, in general, which may relate to income, health, education and family situations using expertise and knowledge of other agencies, both state and federal in order to provide for the veteran and their dependents in need.
All MBVS job postings will be listed on https://www.maine.gov/bhr/state-jobs website or MBVS Facebook page.
The Veterans Benefits Administration at Togus is Hiring
The Togus Regional Office is actively recruiting to hire qualified team members. This is an exciting opportunity for Mainers to work at VA and make a difference in the life of a Veteran.
There is currently a job announcement posted for a Veterans Service Representative (VSR) and in the near future there will be positions posted for other opportunities (e.g. Human Resources, Financial Support, etc.).

The Fallen Outdoors
Provides Non-Perishable Food for Maine's
Homeless Veterans
MBVS would like to thank Tim Crouch and Maine's The Fallen Outdoors Chapter for the food drive they ran in Southern Maine which provided over 900 pounds of non-perishable food items that the Bureau can distribute to food insecure veterans over the coming winter months.
The Fallen Outdoors is an all volunteer non-profit organization who’s goal is to connect veterans of all eras with each other and the outdoors. Their volunteer staffers put together local outdoor trips, some professionally guided, at minimal cost to the veteran (cost of travel to and from the event and any state/federal licensing required for the event are the veteran's responsibility).
